Allow the chicken to sit in the flour and dry out while preparing the oil, this will help the coating stay on better. Then, dip chicken in the buttermilk bath again followed by another coat of seasoned flour. Roll the marinated chicken pieces in the flour, a few at a time, until well coated. Season it by mixing in salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, paprika, and cayenne. If time allows, marinate the chicken for up to 24 hours because the buttermilk promotes tenderness. Soak the chicken pieces, turn to coat, then cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. In a shallow platter, combine the buttermilk, water, and red pepper sauce. Youngest Daughter calls it my "Cooking Facebook" LOL!!įor me, there is nothing better than getting together with good friends and sharing good times and great food! I am adopted and I just turned fabulous 41! I stay very busy, but like to watch Food Network and to try new recipes. My own dad is a wonderful person, a fantastic woodworker and generous man whom I adore. I am a school secretary, very happily married to a firefighter who is the love of my life! I am the fortunate soul of an outstanding mother in law, who I consider my "mom", and for a step-dad in law that is an absolute riot and always makes me laugh. Cooking is a passion and I am having fun! ) It's a pleasure to cook for my friends and family! I love to try new recipes and I prefer eating and entertaining at home to eating at a restaurant.
